    The Ludlow Spring Event

We organised a 51 seater coach for a Folk Club outing to the Ludlow Spring Event. Yesterday was the day. Ludlow is a fab oldi world town on the Welsh English border. The town is great just to wander around, but also yesterday in the castle grounds was the Spring Event ... a beer festival, food festival , craft festival and lots of music. We had a full bus. So here are some pics from the trip.
It was a glorious morning to wake up to .. the church at the back of our place ..

The coach turned up early and so did some of the revellers

    We set off bout 8.30am

Then we headed in to the festival. The clouds over came but it did not rain thankfully.

Then we spotted a few from our folk club already settled in

So we headed to the same place

The bar. There was over 100 real ales and 40 Ciders.

Outside was this lady explaining and selling herbal medicine

We had a few more beers and then left the castle

Some more little streets and alley ways which always led to little pubs ... we didnt try them by the way

Then we were back in the coach and heading to the Skirrid Inn for a little bevy and folk session on the way home. The Skirrid is the oldest pub in Wales. We went through some lovely villages and the coach was a very happy coach

You told me you were going and I'm so pleased you all enjoyed what appeared to be a great day out with everyone, young and old, looking so happy. I obvioiusly live in a comparatively dull part of the country - as far as I know, we just do not hold events such as the Spring Event anywhere near here!

    Take care,
    Ham.

Thanks for the pictures, brings back memories. . . we hit Ludlow market day on our last trip, but only time for lunch and a bit of wandering through those great little back alleys. And the Skirrid is wonderful by itself, but with folk music! Oh, where is that blasted lottery ticket -- the one with the winning numbers, I mean, too many of the other kind. . .

Great pics, Derek, Ludlow looks a very picturesque town. All I have seen of Ludlow is what you see when passing through on the train which isn't very much!
