Kilted even in the Metaverse
Hi All,
I don't know how many of you have ever spent much time in the virtual world of Second Life, but I'm finding that I have been having lots of fun and spending more and more time in there. But what I think is more fun is that, even in Second Life (where people can make their avatars look like anything they imagine - from dragons to clouds to animals to humans) I'm still PROUDLY KILTED!!!!!
So my question to you out there is this:
In real life you may or may not wear a kilt frequently, but where besides XMarks on the Internet do you identify as kilted or wear a virtual kilt of sorts?

Welcome back again, Phil.
I've posted photos of myself kilted in all social networking sites where I have a profile, except classmates and linked in.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

My only virtual world appears when I sleep - though since I started dreaming of myself kilted I find I run faster, leap higher - and I'm not even dreaming of one of my own kilts.
There must be something my subconscious is trying to tell me...

Rex and a few others will back me up on this story. At a recent kilt night, a person was wanting to add me to their facebook list, via an Iphone (or similar) and after he got my name, asked which 'nicholas alexander' I was, and I replied, 'the kilted one' and before another thing could be siad he replied 'yup, there you are"
My profile pic there is a B&W self portrait of me in my Gordon.

Having just recently "lost" 9 complete days and then spending the next couple of weeks wishing almost beyond anything, that I could "loose" them as well, I can't say that I remember the word kilt cropping up, in the metaverse, internet,or anywhere else in the whole universe!

I don't do the virtual thing, but on several other forums(concerning things which are, rightly I may add, taboo here) I am listed variously as KilktedCelt, CelticRedneck and KiltedRedneck.

I have tried to be consistent that if it involves me and kilts in any form or fashion, I am represented as Wolfhawk or TxWolfhawk.

Hmm. Well, I tried Second Life. I gave it a fair go -- about 2 weeks. But it was boring as all get out. Seriously, there seemed to be absolutely no point to it. All I saw were people trying to sell crap for REAL money, virtual dance clubs full of people dancing for VIRTUAL money, and well -- that's about it. Wasn't even all too friendly. For the two weeks I played with it, I don't think I spoke to a single person. So finally I got tired of the painfully slow 3D rendering and graphics loading, and all the space it was taking up on my HD so I pulled the plug and never looked back since.
On the other hand, I'm an avid WoW player and I know that from time to time kilts get worn as fairly standard armor. I wouldn't get too excited about that though -- it's just one piece of kit and chances are, you won't wear it for long before moving to something else.
