    Which Tweed?

A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE. LOOK AT PAGE 6 BEFORE POSTING

    Hey Guys,

Seeing Matt's tweed suits has gotten me thinking (and jealous). I have decided to make up a kilt with matching tweed vest out of one of the following materials. Which do you like and why?

Keep in mind, this will just be a vest and kilt (no jacket).

The top one is yellow/green/red and the bottom one is grey/navy/olive/maroon

I like the top one.. the colors are what I like, and I can see a good blend of colors with shirts and hose, that would appeal to my tastes..

I can see what would be appealling to others on the second option, but I prefer the color palette of the first.

The top one. Perhaps because its similar to one of the Tweeds I'm trying to decide on for myself? But I do like the warmer colors. If you were to wear the vest alone with a jacket - it would pop more then the other option. I also like the bigger red check pattern from a distance (less busy) then bottom.

But both are great and would make a wonderful kilt/vest set.

Rocky, you should change your poll question to say "Look at the pictures before you vote."

They both look better than the colour lists would lead me to believe.

    I tried, but can't edit a poll.

Mods... can you help me out with this one?

I like them both, but having to choose I go with the top one.

I think I've already seen a kilt suit in the bottom most one, come to think of it... I'm 95% sure it was the same tweed.

While patterned tweed kilt suits have never been my cup of tea, I thought this one looked pretty good.

I say go for the bottom one, just because I already know it looks good.

Does anyone think the yellow is 'too loud' (ala loud macleod) or are either or both of them too busy?

Well, I dunno Rocky. I'm looking at the Sett of those and it is possible that you would end up with about 185 pleats and each with only .0256" depth.

But hey, go for it. I could never pull it off but I'm sure you can.

Have you seen some of the other Tweeds from Marton Mills Highland Collection? There are some really nice ones.
