Never got a chance to show ....

..... my new kilt. Way back in August Rocky at USA Kilts made it for me.

Things have been hectic around my life and I finally have some time to do NOTHING... so I had my 6 yr old daughter take some pics. I have a casual bagpipe gig on Saturday and was thinking that this might work as far as uniform goes.

The tartan is Co Roscommon which holds no special meaning other then liking it a lot.

.. and yeah... I have a small tree.. lol

Handsome looking tartan, making a good looking kilt. Lots of range for accessories.

By the way - you shouldn't have told us about the tree - we thought you were a giant!

    Regards

    Chas

Wow! I like that tartan! Personally, I would ditch the Jacobite shirt and go with a modern white shirt and tie for uniform- but each to his own! Those shirts just look too costumesque for my taste.

Thanks... when I was saw it first.. I was just like that.. WOW!

I understand what you mean about the shirt -- I was just looking to see what was in my closet. They go nice enough... but probably not a good pipe gig shirt.

..I'd guess a solid color tie?

Very nice. Is that one of Rocky's semi-trads?

    Tie color suggestions...

    Solid Gold
    Solid Lovat Blue (ancient)

To answer NE's question, it's a 5 Yard Wool kilt.

    Thanks Rocky!

I never really gave a review and while I am still new to kilted-ness... here goes.

This kilt is wonderfully made. The material is comfortable. The construction of the kilt seem to be TOP NOTCH. I can only compare between a band kilt (which was a hand me down but still seemingly solid) and an off the rack kilt from Ebay. That being said... I would love to have another USA Kilts kilt made for me in the near future. But I am ecstatic at having this kilt.. I can't wait to wear it this Saturday in public...

Neither... it's a 5 Yard kilt, so it's pleated to the best pattern we could make with a limited length of cloth... We pleat 5 yarders to look as nice as possible and APPEAR like they're pleated ot the sett, but we 'cheat the sett' b/c there's only 5 yards of cloth, not 8.
