    Calling all Harry Lauder fans

I saw this interesting lot in a forthcoming auction. Kilt, jacket, sporan, dirk etc. Seems to be Harry Lauder memorabilia. - http://www.shapesauctioneers.co.uk/ - who fancies bidding for it then?

I had an uncle that worshiped at the feet of Harry Lauder, but that old gentleman is now past caring. If anyone buys the lot, I'll make an offer on the cane though. It was Mr L's trademark, according to my uncle.
SECOND LOOK: I guess that's a crook in the picture so now I'm confused. I remember him holding a cane that had so many angles it looked like it's been run over by a tank

By repute that "trademark" many angled stick came from a hedge in the village of Frocester, in Gloucestershire, England. Chosen by the man himself.

We had one shrubbery that was called a Harry Lauder Tree. My uncle said that was due to the crookedness of its branches and that would set him off about Sir Harry. It was a fine shrubbery! NI!

... but if Lauder collected walking sticks, then he was a parfait gentilhomme in my books. A sure sign of superior attributes....

Apparently Sir Harry had a huge walking stick collection. My parents used to sing me his songs, but I'm not big into memorabilia.
