Old Firm "friendly" in Boston (Mass.) this summer?
Stay tuned, but it looks like this could be a great event... and I say this as a Hearts fan:

Let's hope the logistics pan out.

I didn't get the chance to see them win the Cup the last two times since (once I was in Indonesia and last time in Oman).

So there are three of us on the board then?
Since both of you appreciate history, I know you'll appreciate this link:

I highly recommand McCrae's Battalion by Jack Alexander, which tells the story of the Jambos in the Great War.
Up the Jambos!

Rangers fans wary on Boston derby proposals?
I can't say I saw the Stokes article, but this seems a bit of an overreaction. I think the event would be a smashing success.
(No Rangers supporters in Boston? New England? I find that very hard to believe....)

i don't think it a overreaction
my grandad was a first aider at that disaster and it wasn't due to the differences with the clubs

A couple of Hearts pix –
“The Sixteen”. Hearts 1st team players in the army after joining the 16th Royal Scots (McCrae's Battalion)at the end of 1914. Seven of McCrae's Hearts players would die in action by the time the war was over.
A modern tribute from Hearts fans and management to the Hearts dead of MacCrae's in WW1. Erected a few years ago at Contalmaison, The Somme, scene of Hearts baptism of battle on 1st July 1916. Three Hearts players died that day.
Hearts Hearts Glorious Hearts ! The team which won the Scottish FA Cup in 1956.
Hearts with the Scottish Cup on the last occasion 2005-6.
Heart of Midlothian Football Club est 1874.
Hi Todd, indeed I bought Jack Alexander's book a few years ago. It would make a really good film. At one time, I thought Mel Gibson would have made a good hollywood McCrae. (Sean Connery was already too old). I think the real McCrae was 54 when he raised his battalion.

Looks like the plans still up in the air, but yes, this would be a great "kilt night" event!
