My Baby
My youngest is two years old today ![Crying or Very sad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)
Does anyone have any idea on how to halt growth in a child? Or to stop time?
He still tells me he loves me and still wants to cuddle and the only thing that makes him cry is when we are out of milk or he has to go to bed. No talking back or attitude laced arguments. It has been a fabulous two years.

I know, he doesn't look like much of a baby anymore, but he'll always be my baby right?

He absolutely will be forever your baby!
I cant help you with the stopping time but it is an amazing thing to watch them grow.
My boys are 2 and 4.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

My youngest turned 2 in early February and I think I know exactly how you feel. New words, new gestures, stringing multiple words together, colors, shapes, animals, questions, now wants to talk on the phone. New things every day. The world is this great big place for them to explore and learn and grow.
But yes, they will never be this age again. Take lots of pictures and video, keep a diary of even minor events, start a scrapbook for the first haircut, etc... You cannot hold back time, but you can hold onto pieces of it, and hold on tight to them. Also hold on tight to your seat because the exciting part of the ride is about to begin. Enjoy. He is beautiful.

Out Little Man turned two in March. Since there's no stemming flow of the sands of time I prefer to focus on appreciating the stages in development. Every day he does or says something new and I am frequently surprised. I try to help him with his discoveries and challenges and teach him whatever I can. Aging is an amazing and awesome process. Sure there's something left behind, but there's so much yet ahead.

Well said, Jeff. I feel the same way about my 2 yr. old. Thankfully we have one more chance, as our son will be arriving sometime after 7 June. ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

By the way, Ali...where's that kid's KILT?
If he expects to wear one to his prom, he better start now! We're not gonna be on here commiserating and threatening some principal via email if he's not gonna get the ball rolling now...
Love theScot's comment about grandchildren. That's exactly how I plan to get my revenge on my kilt-disparaging 21 year old son: as soon as his son is old enough, I'm going to offer to babysit and take the young 'un out and get him a kilt! I can just see the look on my son's face now...
"Look, dad...grandpa got me a real kilt...and this real cool knife to keep in the top of my sock!"

A lost battle in your family? What's cuter than a kid in a kilt?
Two kids in kilts! Or maybe a kid in a kilt with a wee doggie...also in a kilt!

Excellent!! I'm going to file this away & bear it in mind when/& if my 25 yr old kilt-disparaging son makes me a grandfather!!!
