Teacher's Tartan?

I have not been able to find one, but I was wondering if anyone has heard of a Teacher Tartan. I have noticed that there are many educators out there and thought it would be nice to have our own tartan, as police officers and firefighters do.

If there is not one, what is the interest in having one designed and made?

I think there should be a teachers' tartan. They are some of the most under-appriciated and under-paid people out there, falling in the same category as police, EMT's, and others who must do what they do for the love of it.

Design it!!!

we'd certainly have to make sure it's called "weathered" and not "muted"...

the jones for a kilt in that tartan would be just as good as the one that counts down to the end of the year...

Wow (3.5 days left BUT who's counting). An educators tartan would be fabulous. Weathered for sure, and the kilt pin could be a ruler. The possibilities are endless. Someone should come up with the color scheme and weave, but right now my only thoughts are getting through finals, grading, and last minute stuff that happens every year. Let's not let this go and see wjat we can come up with.

No! Sorry guys but this is just more unnecessary proliferation. Why not one for: doctors, dentist, paramedics, janitors, binmen, road sweepers, tree surgeons, trawlermen, lighting engineers etc etc. How about one for every job or profession.

As a "dominie" myself, I have to agree with figheadair. I certainly appreciate the sentiment behind the call to create an educator's tartan, but I really don't see the need for it. I think most teachers would appreciate a pay raise more.

I'm for it. Include a couple of baby blue stripes (the academic color of education), and plenty of red for the passion some of us bring to the profession.
