Exclamation I'm to be a Grandpa!!!

Just heard from my son (Patrick) that I'm going to be a (1st time) Grandfather!

His fiancé (Jessica) is due November 02nd (they know it's to be a boy).
They already have a name chosen: Koda (Sioux for friend).

I'm still trying to get used to the idea that I'm to be a grandpa at the age of 47 (!?!)

    Congratulations.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Terry - Congratulations!!!! As a G-Pa starting at the ripe old age of 44, enjoy the times you will have. But let me be the first to ask - have you order Koda's kilt yet??? And which tartan did you choose???

Congratulations - I hope that all goes well.

I have found that having a grandson is just great for catching up on all the things missed the first time around with the children.

Today I took my grandson to the beach in the morning, after lunch we played in the garden and then we ate chocolate before I gave him back to his dad. Such fun!!

Not yet, but it is something I'll be looking into (the tartan will be Macdonell of Keppoch).

I'm not sure how my son will take to the idea, he's more into his Cherokee heritage (while I have Cherokee bloodlines, his mother's lineage is very heavy with Cherokee). I think sometimes the idea of the "ol' man" in a kilt embarrasses him. Oh well!!

You could always get an Oklahoma or Georgia tartan kilt.

    Congratulations, Terry!

Congratulations, I turned fifty-nine today and got surprised by the great-grandchildren stopping in to say hi at work. They presented me with cards and well wishes, then came to the house after work for a cookout.

I hope you can have the same.

Great blessing on a great day.
I wish you many happy days with the family.

Hey Hey! Congratulations! As a doting grandfather, I feel it's your obligation to fully kit (kilt) out the sprog as soon as he's capable of keeping himself upright

As an aside, I'd better not be a grandfather at 47... that'd mean my son was a father at 14...
