More on the St. Ninian tartan

I know I haven't had much time to be active here of late. One thing keeping me busy since my return from Scotland has been working on a web site dedicated to the St. Ninian tartan I was honored to have designed for the Scottish Catholic bishops for the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI to Scotland on St. Ninian's Day, Sept. 16, 2010. The Scottish Catholic Media Office wanted a web site for information about the tartan, and also to provide a portal to purchase goods.

    It's not 100% done yet, but here's a look:
    http://www.stniniantartan.com/index.html

The information side is more or less complete. The sales page still lacks many product photos, and I still need to add ordering information for cloth by the yard (it will be available in 9 oz spring weight and 16 oz kilt weight, with the kilt weight in slightly darker colors), and ordering kilts. The purchases from this site will be handled through the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop, so the proceeds will benefit the museum. Plus a percentage of the manufacturer's price will be donated to a charity to be named by the Scottish bishops (still TBA).

Products should be ready to ship sometime in November. Please let me know if you have questions!

Having more info about this tartan is great. Well done and don't worry, we know you are busy elsewhere for a reason.

And it's also OK if you decide to go on a vacation after all this is done.

Once again, congrats Matt. I do plan on purchasing a kilt in this tartan but need to wait a bit longer. Perhaps this will be my first box pleat, not sure yet.

The site looks quite tight. The selection of goodies in your splendid new tartan is quite nice as well.

I plan on buying my grandfather a scarf in the St. Ninian's tartan for the winter season.
I'm sure he watched some of the streaming coverage of the events. He'll be tickled pink.
