Interesting "kilt/hat" pin(?)
So I'm surfing eBay today looking for some good deals on real wool kilts when I came across this little puppy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Unusual-Vintage-...item483cd5a6dd
Would any of the rabble have any idea whether this could be a genuine vintage kilt pin? I'm almost positive it wouldn't be a hat pin, but it is unusual, and as such I had to ask.

Looks more like a German hat pin from Bavaria.

My guess is that it is a German or Bavarian hat accessory.
Have seen pictures of men in lederhosen wearing hats with a brush in the hat band.

Cajunscot is absolutely right! In fact it was previously listed last week with a starting bid of $15 US. I contacted the seller to inform him of its' real country of origin and proper name, and he responded with a thank you and a claim that he would correct the listing. I guess that never happened...
Normally the hair is the trophy hair from the wild goat that was harvested. This loooks to be coarser hair, and is probably from a wild boar.
I almost bid on it too, as these ususally sell for $50-100 depending on the age and the condition. It's a real bargain if you want to have one.

They're made from the lower neck of the chamois as well.

Yes...a wild goat-antelope species native to mountains in Europe...
