Thanks for the advice, i saw the tutorials, I do not know my way around a sewing machine, I was hoping to find someone that could do the work for me, and I could pay them.

I believe some members have taken jackets to a tailor, shown them pictures of what a kilt jacket should look like, and had good results...

Yesterday I bought a nice coat, almost exactly the same as the one in this article: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-jacket-48693/, at Goodwill. Today I trimmed off and hemmed the bottom of the jacket. I figure it will be wearable enough for now, but when I have some free time next (between making Christmas gifts and attending online traffic school) I'd like to tackle the epaulettes and sleeve patches. Thanks again for the instructions and the links to them!

I just sent another to our own vmac3205 here. She does a great job. Send her a message. Her work is VERY good and prices very reasonable.

vmac3205 does good work in everything she touches. You can also find a local tailor who will be able to do the job with a little coaching, as mentioned above. It doesn't cost much, and the turn around is pretty quick.

If you have a copy of So You're Going to Wear the Kilt, there's a page in the back about doing exactly that, as I recall. You can also just show a few pictures and wear your kilt for the tailor to mark it, and you should find yourself pleased as any competent tailor can do it.

Slow photos when you get it done.

If you take the jacket to a tailor, take your kilt with you so they can mark the jacket while you are wearing your kilt.
