Seaforth Highlanders Centennial and Presentation of New Colours

This a link to a facebook photo album. I hope it works. If anyone else has any photos or links too, feel free to add them.

I am not the photographer of these photos, by the way, I just think they're awesome!

Thank-you for posting these. I tried to work this event into my schedule, but Saturday turned out being a very busy day for me.

It was a great event. A friend, who came with me and happened to have lived next to Stirling Castle most of his life, said it was the best turned out and sharpest highland regiment he has seen. I must agree. These men and women did not miss a beat!

Rob MacDonald spent months repairing/renewing countless kilts for this event. Well done Rob!

Three more for you, all by Ward Perrin:

Seaforth Pipes and Field Regiment Band

    Old Colours marched out

    New Colours on stacked drums

One of the most moving ceremonies I have ever attended.

Here's an interesting thing. The flag carriers that are being worn by the flag bearers are being worn on different shoulders. The old colours over the left shoulder and the new colours over the right.

All the flag carriers that I have seen (and the one I own) were designed to be worn over the right shoulder. That way they would not interfere with any medals being worn.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
