10th Annual No Pants in New York Subway
I spotted a picture in the Glasgow Evening Times last night which showed lots of people walking out of a New York subway station with no pants on, the caption stated that it was the 10th Annual No Pants Day!
Strange behaviour, even for our American friends, what is it all about? and did this provide an opportunity for wearing your kilt to work?

We have holidays for everything. There is actually some sort of no pants holiday nationwide! And then there's my personal favorite- Make Someone Feel Uncomfortable Day! I'm good at that one... ![Twisted Evil](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
I ran across this picture doing a Google search for Make Someone Feel Uncomfortable Day...
<---- Not me but I wish it was!
And then there's International Talk Like A Pirate Day... Yarrrr, me harties!

This event is a day in which the good people of New York avoid the wearing of trousers in public. Both men and women will be often seen in only their undergarment (pants or panties) while out and about in the city. It should really be titled no Trouser day. For those of us that wear the kilt in public, it is no different then any other day.

I think that in the UK, there would be a high possibility of being arrested by the police if we walked about in our underwear

New York City has a different set of rules.

Yes don't think they ever arrested the "naked cowboy".

They can't take him to court for fear he'll present his "briefs."

Not to mention the fact that if hundreds or even thousands of people are participating, it would be really difficult to arrest everyone. Coloradoans use the same principal every April 20 to hold a pot smoke-in on the lawn of the capital building. You get 3000 pot smokers in one place, the only thing the cops can do is make sure it doesn't turn into a riot.

You must be thinking of the crack smokers smoke-in. Don't think they're likely to riot after smoking weed!

When was the last time you saw an out of control mob of pot heads? Seems counter intuitive. We have the same 'holiday' here.
