    Mountains of Scotland

Was thinking about the mountains of my home town, growing up with them, seeing them every day; that people long, long ago were looking at, for the most part, the same mountains every day.
How, when they are so present in the minds of the people living around them, they become like old friends.

So, pictures if you've got them, and discuss your experiences of your favorite mountains in Scotland.
Or natural features of Scotland that have affected you and generations before you in the same way I described, like shorelines etc.
    Thank you.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Here you go Ted. Starting with Ben Nevis the UK's highest mountain and then some general pictures of home where I used(when I was fit enough!) to stalk deer.

When I don't have to work I either fish or head for the hills. Here are a few examples of some memorable days.

    QUOTE]

Jock, if that is the view out your office window (home office I hope), then I am wondering if you would like to adopt me, so I can come live with you (I promise I won't wear a flatcap---at least not in your presence, and I can bring along a wonderful collection of single malts we can share anytime). To be able to see such beauty each day as the seasons roll by must be a wonderful gift, even if taken for granted sometimes, as we all do our own homes. Just beautiful---thanks for posting.

Thanks Ted for your inviting inquiry that brings us these lovely images. Beautiful pictures all.

To quote one of my sons when the subject of my retirement came up;"-----but father, you have to be doing something to be able to retire from it!" Cheeky whippersnapper!

In 30 years you will, I hope, be well advised to avoid the world that I most certainly will be in, by then!

Yes Jeff these days as I am retired(ish) I have no real need of an office at home, but that is what that particular room seems to have been called. It does have a desk, paperclips, stationary, pens, pencils, telephone, fax, nice leather chair at the desk and sometimes, I even sit in it! Although I try to avoid all that if at all posible. Yes I am lucky to live amongst some stunning scenery, but as you quite rightly point out, Scotland does not have a monopoly on scenery.
