I do prefer lovat blue to lovat green for hose with this (Stewart modern green hunting) kilt. Also, I have joined OCRichard in general opposition to kilt pins. I only ever snagged one kilt pin one time on one thing and only pulled one thread on one kilt, but it was enough.

except I'm not sure what the edge of your apron is doing there...it's all bunched up. I'm guessing it normally lays flat ok? The sporran, as you have indicated, is a bit 'rustic'...but I rather like it. The hose look good with the garter ties...perhaps a bit baggy...looks like they're brand new. Blue would also look great. No real negative feedback here...all in all, you've passed!

Thanks. The apron got bunched under the sporran while I was fooling with the timer on the camera. Tripod was at mid thigh height. All the stuff is brand new.

So sweep the pleats when I sit down, and tug the apron when I stand up. Got it, now all I have to do is keep it.

I think you have nothing to worry about...although your hose might just be about 1nm too low

I agree, I like the look of your sporran-especially for day/casual. I do hope that is a nice heavy weight kilt for Alaska...I hear it gets rather cold up that way.

In all I would say that you look fine. As mentioned, the apron is wonky; the hose seem to be new and are a little loose; if you hadn't mentioned the ties I wouldn't have noticed; the sporran seems a little light-coloured for that tartan but that is a matter of taste. I might want to take the belt buckle to the back (minor detail). Your hose might be a bit high (sorry Spartan Tartan), you want some distance between the hose and the bottom of the knee - maybe a hand-span.

It looks like you may have the kilt a little tight. The centre line of the tartan is waving at the top. My kiltmaker has told me that this is not supposed to happen. Since I've loosened off one hole on the buckle the kilt has been comfortable, secure, and aligned.

Over all, you look great.

The general position and composition looks fine to me. As others have already mentioned, you'll need to smooth the apron and hose out.

I think it looks good... and so does the sporran. It's perfectly all right for day wear/dressy day wear (jacket and tie). Sure you'd want something different for evening wear/formal evening wear (black tie), but I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

I like the sporran with the kilt. Sets it off nicely. To me, the right amount of knee is showing. I like to wear the hose a bit higher though so that is just my personal opinion.
