Traditional Hose Ties (flashes)
There's a website out there that sells a 5 pack of hose ties but I can't find it to save my life ! They are pretty cheap and you can get either a bright color set or muted set. Do any of you know that site ?

Those are elastic flashes with interchangeable "tabs" made to look like garter ties. Just so you know.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Don't bother, they are not very good.

Word.
Elastic garters w/tabs are quite unsatisfactory, when compared to wool tie-on garters.

No these were the long traditional ties. I dont remeber seeing any elastic band to interchange with them. I could be mistaken but I don't believe those are the same. Cost was about the same though. Thanks guys.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but please explain...Is it that you don’t believe they will hold up the hose well? I've not had a pair of hose fall down, even without garters. Or is it kind of like hating pre-tied bow ties, and just not traditional enough?

I may have missed something along the way, but I've never seen "traditional garter ties" of any description sold by a company other than House of Cheviot, and they don't have a package like you've described.

Niether, as it were. I have a lot of experience with both types, and I find the tie-on garters to be much more comfortable and less apt to cut into ones leg, when compared to the elastic. Personally, I think they look better, too. Just my two cents.

Once you go to garter ties, you'll never go back to the elastic strap flashes (even if they have what looks like a tie to come down from the folded down hose cuff, they still have that dratted elastic to dig into the calf). The garter ties are SOOO much more comfortable to wear. After Arlen posted his instruction about knitting garter ties, I showed it to my wife. She has now made me about 8 or 9 pair of garter ties. I'll never have to buy any more.
