    2.5" grosgrain ribbon in black?

For a special project, I'm looking for ribbon to make a couple of cockades. It seems that 2.5 inch wide black grosgrain is what I need, but it's darn hard to come by. I'd need, at most, something like one to two feet, though I'd certainly be willing to buy more than that.

My problem is that I've only been able to find it sold at one location, and I'd have to buy 100 yards of it... which ends up putting the price over $50.00.

Does anyone know of a source for a smaller quantity of this stuff?

    Thanks so much, folks.

    -Ryan

    MUST be 2.5? Seems that 2.25 and 3 are readily available. . . but I don't see 2.5 anywhere.

Hah- I must be looking in the wrong place, as 2 inches is the widest I have been able to find, without buying a huge quantity. 2.25 would certainly be better than 2.0.

Could you reccomend a site for me?

    Thanks so much!

I simply Googled, haven't done business with these folks but here is one source for by-the-yard 2.25:
    M&J Trim

    And a lower price-per-yard for a 5-yard hank at:
    this place.

    Have fun!

Kathy katarra makes flashes and sells them on ebay....I think here ebay name is katarra8. If you do a search on flashes, hers are the only grosgrain flashes there. Probably could lead you to what you want.

    Wooded Hamlet

Wooded Hamlet has been a reliable supplier to me...but I just took the time to look and am shocked that they appear to have no grosgrain ribbon...only satin silk and raw silk ribbon and a bunch of other tapes and braids. Sorry for my previous post (which this edit replaces). Still...if anybody has a need for the stuff they do offer...I can recommend them from past experience.

Good stuff. I have the need but have not had the time to look farther than Michael's. Thanks!
