In only 80 days....
I'll be celebrating my kilted nuptials in what will quite possibly be the most epic and memorable kilted celebration to grace this hemisphere. ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
That's really the only purpose this thread serves... the wife-to-be and I were hammering out some final details, and I realized, "Good lord, this thing is coming up FAST." When you put it into terms like 80 days, compared to, what seems like yesterday, when it was a year out... I'm not sure where all the time went.
We've spent just over a year (and actually, I've been putting some things together, before I let her in on the plan, since I joined this forum) putting in lots of fine details that'll be known only to us and our closest friends, while our guests get to enjoy the rather unique look I think we've put together, as well as an open bar and, I must say, some ridiculously delicious food. We've kept some traditions, discarded others, and tastefully shattered some hard grained perceptions people tend to have about these things. The rabble here, after being SUCH a help in more ways than I can count, can look forward to lots of pics and probably an HD quality video of our first dance, which will be pretty awesome, if I can toot my own horn a bit. ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
The thing I'm loving about all this is the unity. Not just for me and my bride.. that much goes without saying. The families, the friends, everything. I couldn't ask for a better situation. We've included symbols everywhere, especially for us, our celtic roots, our journey through life to this point, and the DEEP military heritage running through both families. But, more importantly, we've included these symbols tastefully and subtly. Unless we pointed them out, most people would completely overlook them, save for a couple more obvious signs. I think that makes it even more our day.
Anyway, I just felt like sitting and typing for a bit. It's almost shocking how little time I have left before people refer to us as Mr. and Mrs Hunden, and I have a little wife around here.

Gentlemen, you will be in for a treat I think. ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
We've taken your average "Prince Charlie, matching kilts, white socks" picture, and thrown it out the window. I think, mostly, the rabble will heartily approve, though I'll admit now, I'm wearing those dreaded ghillies.

Ach, nothing dreaded about 'em! Just make sure they don't come loose and you trip!

Just be careful if you are employing a sword arch, devil dog. Wouldn't want to accidentally find the wrong one sharpened.

You think time has gone fast in the last year? Just wait until you wake up one morning, as i did, and realize that this is the day you take your wife out of town for an evening with no kids, doing whatever you (she) want(s) with no responsibilities the next morning... in celebration of your tenth anniversary.
Time flies whether you're having fun or not.
But please allow me to wish you both the best the day of your wedding and all and every day after it.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

When it's all over, it will seem like it was too quick. Enjoy!
