    Why I wear the kilt

I have taken the liberty of posting the quote below. It was posted on another thread. I wish I had said it, because it really expresses how I feel. So, rabble, why do you wear the kilt? One caveat: I hope we can celebrate all choices and respect a diversity of opinions. I'm certainly not looking for a "best" answer. (BTW, I hope some of the reasons might also express a humorous angle too).
" I wear the kilt to honor my forebears and (as a veteran) for all those whom have died wearing the kilt far away from home serving something greater than just themselves. I consider the kilt the physical embodiment of my family legacy. When I wear the kilt, it's as if my ancestors are walking along side me."

Comin from a guy whos worn a kilt for 2 WHOLE DAYS. The things I like the most are the looks & nice comments (although 1 friend did have a "dress" comment).
The most enjoyable thing about kilting is the freedom. Its almost like Im not wearin anything. Similar to the feelin I get wearin my robe at home.

    Why I wear the kilt

I wear the kilt because of the way it makes me feel: confident, approachable, and in-charge. I walk a little taller, smile a little warmer, and feel like a king when I wear my kilt. It's a very positive experience.

Simply stated, I enjoy wearing the kilt.
I am proud of my Scottish heritage, but I don’t have a kilt in a Scottish tartan – some day I hope to get one.
And of course there is the freedom of going regimental!
With that goes a certain responsibility, but it’s a manageable responsibility.
And I enjoy the reaction it arouses, whether positive or negative. The positive response is heart-warming, and I can ignore the negative or even enjoy it at times.
    Regards,
    Mike
