No Henderson PV?
Why is it sooooo verry hard to find a kilt made of PV Henderson material with more than 4 yds of fabric? I'm a big dude and 4 or 5 yards isn't gonna cut it. I would look like I was wearing a wavy skirt rather than a pleated kilt.
Ohhh, Sorry for my Tirade. This is Cory McHenry (Henderson by the grace of God )

Hey Brother,
I'm not sure how much material they use, but Sportkilt has a Henderson tartan right now. I'm hoping to score one of those later this year.

Re: No Henderson PV?
Everyone on the facebook Clan Henderson page is saying that too... problem is that I've seen vids on youtube of their kilts. I've seen vids of big men in their kilts. I didn't like the look. When your big the pleats get wider and shallower. And I'm a 46" waist, when companies use a certain yardage per kilt they really sacrifice pleatiness on big fellows.

Looks like my reply didn't post ![Sad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
I am trying to avoid SportKilt because I have seen vids on youtube of big men like myself (I'm 46") wearing them and it was not flattering. When a company sticks to a certain amount of fabric, big guys get kinda shanked on the pleating. If I have to go with sportkilts I would prob make a special request for at least 6 or 7 yards.

Re: No Henderson PV?
Well, a bit of a search indicates that Marton Mills, the premier weaver of Poly-Viscose fabric, does not make a Henderson tartan in PV. So, that leaves you with perhaps finding something in an Acrylic, Poly-Cotton, or a kilt made in an Asian/Middle Eastern PV, Poly-Acetate ? fabric. Or, go with wool.
There are some member here who also have ebay businesses, MyClanTartan for one, who sell lightweight wool tartan on Ebay at a reasonable price which you could then have made into a nice kilt.
There may be some other options as well, but it appears you may have to change plans a bit to get what you want.
Best of luck!

Re: No Henderson PV?
Unfortunately it's true that our beloved Henderson tartan is not well represented out there in the non-wool world. Have you considered going with the Gunn tartan? I've been thinking of going that way myself, or even with my brides tartan, MacLaren, as they are both more available than Henderson.
