Burns Night Supper 2012 Nor Cal Rabble

The Nor Cal Rabble had a terrific Burns Night Supper on Saturday, January 21. The rain let up enough so everyone wasn't drenched this year. Here are some pictures of the event...

Always looking for information on how to hold a better Burns night, we were delighted to come across this authoritative guide.

More people arrive. There were around 70 in all.

Gene McCracken and his wife Ruth have been wonderful to the Nor Cal Rabble over the years, offering us hospitality and a place to gather at the games. In their honor, Panache, The Amazing Madalyn, and I are wearing their McNaughton clan tartan.

Looks like a wonderful time! I am a bit confused, however, as most Burns Dinners take place over the course of a single evening, and yet I see Panache wearing THREE different outfits! Or is Jamie really one of a set of triplets that we did not know about? :-)

Jamie, I think your wife's blue dress is smashing! (And a great compliment to your X Marks kilt - or should I say your X Marks kilt is a good compliment to her dress?)

    Matt,

The first outfit was for set up, then I changed to my formal rig and the XMTS tartan, the last change (back to the MacNaughton tartan) was a bit of a joke. We waited for Gen McCracken to notice that Kent and Madalyn were wearing his tartan, and since Kent and I are the "Bobbsie Twins" of the Nor Cal Rabble I then appeared in matching tartan. Gen and Ruth, not to mention Alan Hebert, have been good friends to us and we wanted to honor that friendship by wearing their tartan. The MacNaughton tartan is also a very handsome in its own right.

As for Star and the dress, she gave up trying to have a "Scottish" outfit a long time ago but looks for things that go well colorwise with my tartans. Mostly she wants things that are good for dancing in. And yes, I know that I am a lucky lucky man!

    Cheers

    Jamie
