    Crazy Day Kilted

Drove home from Denver today - 11 hours, lots of snow. Again, wore the RKilt green leather and had no problems with overheating or being cold. No pics - too busy dealing with the snow and traffic.

Left Denver at O Dark Thirty and must have been still half asleep because after I'm on the freeway I realize I have a Suzy Wong thing going on with my kilt. I'm a "step in" guy when I kilt up and somehow I managed to step in with the underapron running around my backside and just the apron in front and nada but underkilt down the right side of my leg. Gotta love it. Stopped at Carl's Jr in Idaho Springs and rearranged things in the restroom then got breakfast to go.

My second stop up in the Rocky's at Silverthorne I gassed up and went in to do what all olde men do regularly on a road trip. When I came out a very tall young Black guy who was working the counter asked me if I was getting ready for St. Patrick's day. Told him no, just driving in comfort. He insisted on taking a picture of me...happy to oblige. Who'd guess someone would want a kilt pic in the middle of a snowstorm.

Stopped at the City Market in Moab to pick up a sandwich for lunch and while I'm walking down the aisle an attractive lady my age was yacking on the phone. Suddenly she says real loud, "I have to hang up now, there's a gorgeous man in a kilt coming towards me." I stopped to chat but just after we began the pharmacist called her to the window...oh well. Neat compliment though.

And sadly, somewhere, somehow, I managed to lose my Navajo made sgian dubh. Some way it fell out somewhere. Retraced by phone when I got home but would guess whoever found/finds it kept or will keep it. At least should be fairly easy to replace.

Was pretty isolated in the car but seems like almost every time I pulled over for something and ventured forth kilted something happened.

So tonight sleep and tomorrow back to work.

Nice story. Sorry about your sgian. I lost one and got it back last Autumn at a fest. I have now made a deeper, custom sheath it should stay in very well.

Great News! I lost my sgian dubh in the home where I was staying in Denver. The cat found it. So I'll soon have it back. WHAT A RELIEF!!

Must have fallen out when I was wrangling all the luggage to leave yesterday. WHEW!!!

Glad to hear that you'll soon have your sgian back. Will it be covered in cat spit, of did the cat try to bury it in the litter box?

    Glad you found it, Ron.
