I had to look up the band St.Laurence O'Toole, out of Dublin, and why there was such an impressive Irish pipe band all wearing kilts. Their history may be worth a look:

This makes me miss my pipe band the Quaboag Highlanders.

I would love to see the Scots of old see this. Each clan would have had a few pipers at best. I always think how happy they would be to see things like massed bands of a tattoo. Bagpipes of all forms are a powerful instrument.
