Help me decide on the pleating option for a box pleat kilt...

Afters some months in Matt Newsome's queue, it appears that my number is about to come up for the Maxwell Hunting box pleat kilt.

Matt sent me two photos of pleating options. The first is pleated to the double red stripe on the green field. Matt tells me this is what he'd normally do, and it was what I was planning on:

But he also included the option of pleating to the single green stripe on a red field. I'd not considered this, but am intrigued. While it's kind of hard to imagine the entire back of the kilt, this seems pretty arresting:

So what does the rabble think? Is the image above simply stunning or is it a poke in the eye?

    Please opine.

    Thanks,

    SM

No1 gets my vote. No 2 seems rather loud for my tastes.

I'd go with the double red stripe on the green field (Option 1), Shaun.

Some of my Macpherson tartans have double white stripes and I have always pleated specifically to them, then again I prefer my kilts pleated to the stripe as opposed to the sett. Luckily for me, the Macpherson clan, hunting and dress tartans are conducive to such manner of pleating.

    Cheers,

WOW, both options look good, but I would go for #2, because I like showing more red!

As striking as the 2nd option is, I'd go with the 1st (double red on green)

It seems like the options boil down to a favorite phrase here in New Mexico - Red or Green - only here we're referring to chili, not kilt colors .

For me, personally, I'd go with the version showing more red. But then, I ride a Red Vulcan Nomad, my wife drives a Red Mustang Convertible, we have a red metal roof on our house, both our daughters drive red cars, and, I just paid for a Gordon Red kilt - (jonesing, jonesing)...

So - I cast my vote for #2.
