Loud MacLeod ... to stripe?

Hello, everyone!

It's about time for a new kilt, methinks, and it's high time I get my Loud MacLeod.

I'm hooked on pleating to-the-stripe. I've got MacLeod Hunting to-stripe, and it's outstanding - really a great look. But what about The Loud, pleated to the red stripe?

Pleated to one of the narrow yellow stripes? That would give a very dark back, I'd think, but I have a tough time envisioning kilts as they'd appear pleated to stripe.

What say the rabble? Opinions? Thoughts? Ideas?

Must follow this one, I had a Loud pleated to the sett, sold it to a member of the Mcleod clan(I am not McLeod), but one that was pleated to show black and flashes yellow on the swing, would be very Pittsburg Steeler

Nope not even close. Deafening was having my then 12yr old highland dancing daughter tell me she wanted a 'loud' McLeod kilt with a yellow velvet waistcoat trimmed with gold braid and buttons. My eyes burned just from imagining such an outfit....

I was once told "Anything worth doing, is worth over doing" ... I'd love to see that outfit on a dancer that knows her craft. I imagine it would be like sunshine exploding from the stage.

ooooh...gnetly, there....that's starting to creep dangerously close to those scary day-glo outfits the little Irish dancing clone-girls wear....Scottish dancing always has more class because the outfits tend toward tasteful restraint.

Still....you wouldn't have much trouble finding her in a crowd...

I have 7 kilts but my Loud McLeod in the only one I have not worn out in public, even after 6 months. Maybe I'll test drive it in Edinburgh next time I'm there.

There was a thread started by BarbT in the last year or so, where the pleating to the stripe gave a monochrome look to the rear of the kilt, but very very bright reveals.

I've got this thread favorited on my PC at home. I haven't bought a kilt like this yet, but it sure has stuck with me.

Have mine for sale if you were my size (max 46" minimum 42" waist, 44" hips, 22 1/2 long) USA semi-trad in PV - but pleated to the sett. More info if you're in the size range and interested. But here's a pic of the tartan (or the Marton Mills version of the tartan) pleated to the sett.
