    OK, what is this?

    http://www.scotweb.co.uk/fabric_popu...640:height=400

    ???

    copy/paste description:

    Producer hedga
    Fabric Name Scott, Red Mod
Fabric Width 140cm (approx. 56”) double width
Range HE CD Luxury Heavy Weight Double Width
Luxury Tartan range. From one of Scotland's top mils, a superbly luxurious heavy weight pure new wool fabric with kilting selvedge, even smoother than this mill's standard heavy weight fabrics, in a special range of rare tartans; it has a particularly large sett size.

I can't find it on House of Edgar's website. Should I think about having a kilt made from this, or is this for like covering furniture were I so inclined?

    Thanks

My guess is that it is similar to the cloth HoE weaves that can be seen at

    http://www.houseofedgar.com/acatalog...tock_Clan.html

    and what Scotweb sells at

    http://www.scotweb.co.uk/tartan/Scot...rm=scott%20red

but for reasons not stated in your link was woven in double width, a larger-than-normal sett size and is "smoother" (whatever that means - more tightly woven?).

It would probably make a very nice kilt, but I would check with Scotweb for verification and details. Should you pursue it, good luck.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

You should think about it and then come to the conclusion, YES.
