    Sir John A. MacDonald kilt

So I have finally reached my fighting weight and have pulled the trigger on a casual kilt from Burnett and Struth. I chose Sir John A. MacDonald tartan from their on sale list. Has anyone seen a kilt in that tartan or better yet got a picture. I have seen pictures of the tartan but not a kilt. I think it's going to be pretty cool in any case.

Sorry, I have not seen a kilt in that tartan, but B&S are very good highland wear suppliers - off the rack or bespoke.

They made my MacDonald of Glenaladale kilt. However, at the time, if that tartan had not been avail. I was leaning very strongly towards the Sir John A. MacDonald tartan. I have seen a swatch - it's a great tartan. Also, you can't go wrong with B&S service.

Does anyone know if Sir John A. ever wore a kilt? I have been told that Lord Strathcona (Donald Smith) did, but I haven't seen a picture of either. If anyone finds such an image, please post!
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

I don't have a picture, but I offer this very interesting article about John A.

And, if that article makes you sad that John A. probably didn't wear a kilt, here's good old John G. wearing his:

Thanks very much. The weight loss is going so well that I'm going to keep going another 15 pounds, so to keep the metaphor going I'll be dropping down one more weight class to 190. I'm sure my new kilt will still fit fine.

You're not kidding Rocky. I have one coming from you, the Colquhoun Ancient, the Sir John A from Brandon and a Irish Revenge from Sport kilt. To cap it off I have to take my Rkilt back to Robert to get it sized down. This is starting to make my other obsession, vintage motorcycles, look pretty normal.
