Question Tweed Jacket made-to measure on ebay

    Hey guys,

I found this on ebay and find it very nice.

    http://www.ebay.de/itm/GREEN-TWEED-N...item5d34505493

Thought it was MM Cairngorme but I was told it's a MM 10oz. tweed.
I could not find a lightweight MM tweed in this pattern....
Possibly they don't know what they are selling?

    Any thoughts?

    Tom

My understanding is that loden crag is either cairngorm or cheviot fabric in 16oz weight which is an excellent weight cloth for everyday use. Who told you it was only 10oz?

I am very interested because I have been looking at this jacket too.

    That's what I thought too...
I wrote to them and was answered so...
It's confusing because there is no 10 oz. tweed by Marton Mills...
In 16 oz it would be perfect.

You could ring the seller. I assume it's Tartan4less. They have a telephone number on the eBay listing. I think they have it wrong and it is 16oz . As you say there isn't a 10oz loden crag unless they have had it specially woven. If they do then I would say it's too light weight to be of much use for jacket fabric.

I thought it was this one from cairngorme range

I asked if there is a choice of fabric because I like this from the same range...

    @grizzly...

yeah, but I wrote an email.

    I assume it's 16oz. A special weave wouldn't be that cheap I guess.

A 10oz tweed would be fine for Hawaii :-)

Have just had a reply saying that it's cheviot cloth not cairngorm which is just as nice. Am awaiting confirmation of the weight as they are closed now till Monday.

Got an answer...not final but with some hints...

"Hi tom not back in till monday these jackets are made up for certain marton mills cheviot I will confirn weight monday. Regards Jim"

This let me think it's 16 oz. There is also a Loden Crag in Cheviot range by Marton Mills.
