    Bunker Kilts

Bunker Kilts? Anyone here seen/tried one?

Being a FF, this is right up my alley (along with the FF memorial tartan).

I'm in need of a new kilt since my SWK is basically falling off of me now. I think my new one will either be a 5yd wool from USAKilts in the FF memorial tartan or one from Bunker Kilts.

    Thoughts?

I'm in a pipe band with my retired Battalion Chief and as a retirement gift we all chipped in to buy him a black bunker kilt. It was cool at first, but than the cool factor kind-of died off and now it's just something he wears in a mass-band parade. Most bands want you wearing some kind of tartan, not something that looks kind-of gimmicky....just my opinion though. They ain't cheap either...better to spend your money on the FF memorial tartan...something you can wear anywhere. Again...my opinion.

I love my FF Memorial tartan kilt. Its a beautiful tartan even when folks don't realize what it is...and its nice that I know.

Or just get one of each...

I think truckie561 has hit the nail on the head. Go with the FF Memorial, it will fit for all occasions and not only is it a beautiful tartan, it has meaning behind it as well.
And thanks to both of you guys for being there when needed.

I have seen them. Made out of the same stuff our bunks are so not too thin. Nice novalty, but I don't know if I would want to flash about what I do for a living that much. I have been thinking of asking my chief for an old set of bunks for the pockets, figure it would be a cool hiking sporran.
