Was just given a book of Scottish insults and curses...

It is called Awa' an' Bile Yer Heid! By David Ross....This is going to be good. The first page I opened to was Robert Blair insulting Cromwell...

Sounds like an interesting and potentially useful book :-D

I couldn't help be reminded of this clip from this cartoon called Samurai Jack (in this episode, Jack meets 'the Scotsman' in the middle of this enormously long suspended bridge that is so narrow , they can't pass each other and an argument ensues) ... this is the 20-second long Scotsman's string of insults (some of which might be authentic)

The only one i can make out, the accent is poor, is "Jessie". Calling a man a "Jessie" is saying he is like a woman, more specifically a delicate woman. Some Scots words are difficult to define, you just know what they mean. Rugby is not played by "Jessies". King Fergus (the big guy in Brave) is not a "Jessie".
