Do you wear your kilt at work? Show your pics!!
I'm lucky to be able to wear my kilt at work, a gluten-free store in Vancouver,Washington called Lingonberries. Do you wear your kilt at work and how easy was it to get permission? How about those photos of you at work in your kilt!!!
Here I'm celebrating the last of Scotland week with a Black Watch kilt and Scotland shirt. Love my job!!! As it is at work and a grubby job, I don't have a sporran and belt nor more traditional gear.

Wore mine on St. Paddy's Day Friday. Didn't get permission just wore it. My boss took the pics so it was OK with him. In a few weeks I am going to try again and see if everything is still OK. More management should be in the building, so we will see how it goes. I am a CAD draftsman (hence I got my use name from) so I just sit at my desk and draw on the computer and don't muck about too much.
I've got big shoes to fill ... so I wear big socks!

A couple years ago it was a very hot summer. Management came up with the idea to have a shorts and flip-flop day. They had two "don't" rules none of which included the word kilt. So I figured they had just set themselves up for a kilt day at work. I never wore a kilt to work even though many of my co-workers knew of my interest in them. So on the designated day I arrived in the kilt pictured below. Word spread fast around the building. One lady that I had known for about 20 years did not know about my kilts. She worked on the other side of the building and came over just to see if the rumor I had on a kilt was true. One of the directors said if they had been awarding prizes I would have won for thinking out of the box. So it was a fun day. They had another shorts and flip-flop day last summer but by then the novelty had worn off. I had on the kilt again but everyone knew about it by then. I assume they will do it again this summer when the heat returns. USAKilt semi-traditional Holyrood tartan.
The office is casual dress so I could probably get away with wearing a kilt everyday but decided not to.

I am a docent on a museum ship, the SS Jeremiah O'Brien. I have worn my kilt several times while working on the ship and in the ticket booth.

The kilt does get a little attention from time to time by the visitors.

I do. Since I don't work with the public, and since we're away from the main office with the big bosses, nobody much cares what I wear. I usually wear jeans anyway, and no one complains when I'm running around in my workout gear before and after a lunchtime workout, so a kilt is no big deal. (Though again, as a female it's easier-- even with a job where I'd be required to dress up, I can argue that I'm simply wearing a skirt, certainly within the dress code anywhere.)

I'm fortunate to work in a place that has a intense brand oriented mindset which includes the dress code - they are a franchisor of several brands. When we have guests in the building, we must follow the strict protocol. You might be wondering why I think this is fortunate. Well, the pendulum swings the other way when we do not have guests in the building. We can wear "nice" jeans, t-shirts, etc. The etc I've interpreted to include kilts.
First time I wore a kilt, the CEO practically ran into my office to see it. He's a Donaldson. Excitedly asked me questions and then ran off just as quickly because he was late to a meeting.
First two are my MacQueen traditional. Last is part of my renaissance fair outfit I wore for an employee "what would you rather be/do" day. Unfortunately, the mug remained empty.

On a few occasions I've gone kilted to the office. I work in a satellite office, in Ohio. All the managers and higher work at the headquarters in Kansas.
One of my earliest attempts...
