Ok, here goes. Could anyone possibly id or narrow down what the tartan might be on the guy in the background in this photo? Gent in the front is wearing Chattan, of which I also own one.

    Thanks in advance...

Looks like it might be, Macpherson. It looks like the bash might also be being held in a certain ballroom in the Newtonmore area(?), which may help with the tartan identification a tad. On the other hand-------------------

    Of course! MacPherson (Hunting?).

I believe that this is one of Kyle's photos.

Pretty sure the one in the back is MacPherson- black and white with a distinctive garnet double line and a yellow line.

RayMac, why not google MacPherson tartan or MacPherson dress tartan and see if that is what you are looking for/ at...

You just answered the question I have been looking for and I think I can answer yours. He is wearing a dress Macpherson modern and I think his name in John Macpherson. I have looked at several photos of the Macpherson gathering 2007 found on their official site and many on blogs about the Macpherson dress tartan. I am Macpherson but the fellow in the red plaid is an unknown and his tartan has caught my eye on a new purchase. Thanks
