    New job...

I started a new job 2 weeks ago, driving a 5-ton truck for a charity. We go around to people's houses picking up clothing and small household item donations. Decent job, great trucks, and reasonable pay.
The best part is the dress code..."we have to look respectable". They said I can wear a kilt if I feel like it. Woohoo!!
I think I'll be wearing my Buzz Kidder kilt as it's canvas and won't get quite as beat-up as my Bear kilt would. If it works out ok I might consider getting a Utilikilt.
Now I'm just waiting for the *&$)%#$# snow to stop!! (It IS supposed to be spring, right??)

Just a thought, how about posting piccies of each of us at work in a kilt?
I'll get onto it tonight, but for now I must leave this forum, I never get any work done.

    Al,
My kilts have all stood up to working in a lumber yard. They may be light but they're tough.

Good point, Bear! I forgot that you wear your kilts for work all the time. I'll see how things go with the BK, then when it gets a bit warmer I'll switch to my Bear. If everything works well it will give me a better excuse to order a few more kilts!

Graham...good idea with the "job" pics. Once I start wearing my kilts for work I'll get my wife to snap a few shots, or maybe get the other drivers to take a few with the truck in the background.

Glad that you can wear a kilt on this new job, and by the way, CONGRATULATIONS! Anytime or any place that a kilt is considered respectabe is OK with me, and talking about getting the kilt exposure, WOW!

The only problem I foresee is when you, (and you will), grab the hem of your kilt with whatever object you're lifting.
I have a knack for doing it while taking a double armload of clothes out of the dryer.

Hey Bear, how far do you make it before you notice that you are being noticed in all your glory!

Al, you are the envy of all of us who cannot be kilted at work!

Good luck and just think of all those people you'll introduce the kilt to. I actually had someone come up to me in Wal-mart and say, "Is that a kilt? I've never seen one except in the movies."

    Be prepared and congrats!!!!
