"You're not trying to sneak up on anyone in that are ya?"
Said to me today by a fine fellow at the Central Florida Highland games regarding my Buchanan modern. Lol, it was pretty funny really - I understood his point. His wife was there and admitted he wanted to get Modern but she wouldn't let him - he was wearing Buchanan Hunting (A beautiful kilt I might add - another one for the wish list!). He was a vendor and had some outstanding knives but way out of my price range (I saw from $300.00 to over $1200.00). I should have taken a pic with him but only just now thought of that. Doh! I did take a pic with the kids from Harry Potter though!

And we chased KiltedCodeWarrior all over the place but finally got to have a chat with him near the end of the day - Very nice to meet you sir!
All in all a good day at the games - hopefully someone did a better job than I of taking lots of pictures!

You and I are of an accord! I saw one other Buchanan modern (turns out it was a guy I knew but didn't know he was going to be there so was happy to see him) but I had a lot of folks holler "Howdy Cousin" or some variation of that. Lots of flashes of Buchanan on ties and scarves and flags but no Buchanan tent probably cut down on attendance from our kin. I was told that the lady who usually puts together the tent was sick and couldn't find a replacement in time. Hope she gets to feeling better.

Won't let him get the Buchanan modern kilt! What a shame, I am truly jealous of that particualr tartan. Very original looking and very easy to identify!

lol, so true - I found the clan tent of my kilt maker (Alexis Malcolm) and went to introduce myself and I said "Hi I'm Lee and you made my kilt" and she said "OH I know - I recognized that one from half way across the field!"

Sounds like a good day. Too bad the woman handling your tent was under the weather.
Nice looking kilt.
As for sneaking up on someone, I would suggest you try it in New England,....during the fall.

I was looking at a swatch of that tartan just the other day. It is quite bright! My first thought was that it looks like a stop light!
I have a Buchanan Ancient in PV from USAK. A little more my taste, but keep rocking the modern!

Likewise, I find the modern to be quite bright, but if modern is a little too punchy for someone's taste, the other pallets do offer some great alternatives. Here's a DC Dalgliesh "Reproduction" that I purchased last spring...

Good to meet you as well, but you are right, you were all over the place. I think you were flying one of those Quidditch brooms!
Will post some pics later.

No finer tartan to my eye. The comment I usually get is "Did that kilt come with batteries?". Easily one of the most recognizable tartans - Macleod of Lewis might be #1.
