The Scottish Kilt Shop is not actually based in Maryland. They have a post office box there. They also have a post office box in England where they say all returns are supposed to be sent to. This allows them to list the US as a business address.

But they are actually based in Sailkot Pakistan. That is where the products are made and shipped from.

If you call them you will get through to a cell phone in Pakistan.

Lots of great vendors here, including the above poster. ALWAYS buy from someone who is actually making the kilt for you....middlemen, jobbers, "I can get it for you cheaper" will almost always result in grief.

You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

Welcome to the forum that can save you money and grief....you are most wise to ask and check things out.

Just me, but I would certainly dispute "quality" for a Stillwater kilt. For sure price and service. Not a put down, just put a Stillwater kilt next to a 16 ounce hand sewn tank...no contest. Your mileage may vary.

You could get a Casual Kilt from USA Kilts. Good quality, reasonable price, fantastic customer service.

Ron, I think Stillwater fills a very important part of the market. If someone is just wanting to try wearing a kilt, paying for a 16 oz tank just isn't on. Even $110 for a USAK casual may be too much. But I know from experience that a SWK Thrifty even can give a newbie at least a taste of what wearing a kilt is like.
When my son gets married in a couple of months, he will be in s USAK Semi-trad. His sons (from a previous mariage) will be in Casuals. But my other young grandsons, who won't be up in front, but want to join in the kilted festivitie? Who haven't stopped growing yet? They'll be in SWK Thrifties. Perfect for that purpose. And what is the quality of a product if not its suitability for a function?
