    Does this look okay?

Okay, so Charles has finally, for the most part, got his kit together and is doing a trial run tomorrow by wearing his kilt for the very first time to the Ren Fest in Irwindale.. Yeah, i know, its not a Scots fest, but we figured it would be good for a first timer. But he wanted an honest opinion (Wife always thinks he looks good, so I don't count) as how it looks.. I know the sporran was a bit off centered in this pic (we fixed it but then his eyes were closed in the second pic lol) and he doesn't have his belt on (he is hoping to get a buckle tomorrow, he has the belt). He was going for a more casual look.. So, what do you guys think?? Also, he wants me to double check, on the sporran belt, the buckle goes to the back, correct??

btw, the kilt itself is one of Matt's beauties..

So far so good! Well done.

Yes the sporran strap buckle usually goes at the back, although some find that uncomfortable, particularly when driving and wear the buckle elsewhere, often right by the sporran. You will find that the sporran, the kilt, the hose, everything with kilt attire will move around a tad during the day and its your job--------amongst all the others you already have------- to keep your man up together and a quiet word from you, during the day, is going to help no end. Another wee trick is; get him to glance at his reflection in shop windows, etc., as he passes by, to also help keep his attire up to gether too, although being overly fussy about it is best avoided.

To my eyes, proper kilt hose worn at the proper height sets off the kilt perfectly, but that may not be the look that he requires and the weather will no doubt influence those thoughts quite a bit I should imagine.

He looks good! Have fun at the Faire! We were hoping to make it this year but are not able to. We will be at Scottish Fest at the Orange County Fair Ground on Memorial Day weekend. I doubt I can get my husband into a kilt though.

Thanks yall.. He was feeling a bit worried about how it looked, because he didn't want to look too sloppy, so I told him if he really wanted an honest opinion, let me take a pic and get it from the experts ;) (ooh, and Father Bill, that sporran look familiar?? haha)

Elizabeth, we will be at the Scottish Fest as well. This is kind of a "dry run" for that so he can get use to it before being around those who are truly in the know.. haha
