Is there a City of Chicago tartan?

Does anyone know if a City of Chicago tartan exists? It seems that there is one for Chicago University. Maybe there are some XMarkers in or near Chicago who know or could help me track it down?

We're lucky to have a New York City tartan and I'm hoping that there's also one for the city of Chicago.

I don't know about a City of Chicago tartan, but there is a State of Illinois tartan, which is also the Saint Andrew Society of Illinois tartan. I was just speaking to the President Emeritus of the Illinois Saint Andrew Society about it this weekend at the Chicago Highland Games. I asked him to ask around if there is any yardage. If you'd like, I can keep you posted.

There's not one for the City but there is one for the University.

Thought about trying to promote the creation of one many times. The colors of the city flag are pretty distinctive….the blue is the same blue that's used on out police cars and has been put out as a paint color by Benjamin Moore paints: http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/p...r/chicagoblues

The city flag being what it is, it could be a pretty washed out looking tartan

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Chicago

….the argument could be made that a couple of other colors could be brought in or the flag colors of blue, red and white could be arranged on a black background. Hope that it could be kept simple because I've seen the description of other state, territorial and city tartans where they seem to try to get as many colors in as possible and have some pretty far-fetched excuses as to why they chose them.

There's a project to add to the list…

I could see that with 4 red six-pointed star kilt pins down the fringe edge of the apron.
