    Becoming Numb

    Hell-o all,

After wearing the Kilt for over 10 years now, I have seemed to become numb to the compliments. I mentioned this to a friend and he said that I wasn't paying attention.

I then proceeded to take note and pay extra attention. Yes in a 12 hour period, I received a total of at least 36 compliments that I heard.

Granted not all came up to me and said something a lot said something to a friend or spouse "Wow looks good"

I am now going to have to stop being so numb and listen gratefully for compliments.

I find that some people are a little too shy to actually come over and say something, but I do hear a lot of comments about the kilt when I'm on the bus or walking down the street. Mainly along the lines of "that guy's wearing a kilt" or "why is he wearing a kilt".

I do get a lot of compliment from women though; they are usually interested in the tartan and always say something along the lines of "it's always nice to see a man in a kilt/skirt". Living in London, which can be a tad anti-social at times (especially on public transport) the kilt is a great conversation starter/ice-breaker.

London is quite anti-social, but a kilt does break the ice. I have a black and white tartan (Menzies) which I'm wearing with a black polo shirt and black hose. I'll add a pic of it soon
