A Photo Journal of Kilt Kamp 2014
I will be posting photos throughout Kilt Kamp 2014, showing participants and, of course, their kilts and the efforts in producing the kilts!
The first participant showed up this morning- Truitt from Alaska, wearing the Harley-Davidson tartan and a really cool sporran by Artificer. He has a number of great travelling stories to relate about driving down from Anchorage!
After he got himself settled into his temporary abode, he and Steve took off in the Jaguar to pick up supper --
Tomorrow the rest of the Kampers will be coming in....some by ferry, some by plane....... Stay tuned for more photos then.

More people have arrived!
Harlan Hastings, Barb Tewksbury, Truitt and Kevin Orr (Okiwen) sitting on the front porch discussing the finer points of life with Steve.
The first casualty of Kilt Kamp. Okiwen goes to show Steve a new knife, whereupon Steve slices his finger open. Sigh.....
They are already at it this evening -- laying out the pattern for the first kilt.
This is what Kevin is working with -- MacDonald of Clanranald.

When making a contemporary kilt, the waist position may vary depending on how the person wishes to wear the kilt. Here is BruceBC deciding where he wants his kilt to rest.

Attendees at earlier Kilt Kamps, Harlan and Okiwen are already pleating:
County Cork
MacDonald of Clanranald
Some are figuring out splits...
While over in the Contemporary Course, the calculations of pleating using the system The Wizard developed:

Am loving the Taylor Ancient for some reason. It's not that common but makes a lovely pastel kilt.
