Flippin 'eck, now I'm watching fashion parades

late night on the idiot box, I turn it on and there's a feature on some Frenchman called Gaultier and shows the fashions he has created.

Well most, if not all of it was weird, but the sad thing is...I'm watching it to see if there are any kilts or MUGS.

Apparently Gaultier is known for putting "sk***s on men".
Not a kilt in sight tho'.

Yeah, I've heard about Gaultier over on Toms. He's been pushing male s**ts for quite a while. Different strokes and all that, but not for this old boy.

No 'me ol mate, Gautier is having two bob each way in terms of fashion.
However my concern is that I have degenerated to the level of being interested in fashion!!

    It's all Hanks fault!!

For me fashion consists of trying to wear colors that don't clash and avoiding indecency charges.

When i first started making kilts I was interviewed by the Vancouver Sun.
One of the questions was, "When did you decide to get into the fashion business?"
I answered, "I hadn't thought of it as the fashion business until you asked. I'm just making kilts."
I'm still thinking about that question.

My own opinion is "fashion" is for people that don't know who they are and need somebody else to tell them how to look. I dress my way and ignore what's "in" and what's "the latest". "cool" is a degree of temperature, not clothes or music.

I'm the same way Bubba. I wore boots, Stetsons, jeans, and vests for ten years before the "Urban Cowboy" Craze hit. I took lots of flack about it.

It gave me tremendous pleasure to knock hats off the heads of a few folks who gave me the most grief before Western Wear became fashionable.

Well said, Bubba! I've been like that all my life. Now that I'm back riding a motorcycle, I get all kinds of people asking why I don't have any "Orange County Choppers" or "West Coast Choppers" shirts. Sorry, I don't fall into the latest fads, which is exactly what those two shops currently are. Same thing goes for the current popularity of the "Von Dutch" clothing line. I wonder if even 1% of the people wearing it knows who Von Dutch was. Kinda burns my butt, to be honest. I bet he's turning over in his grave.

al.G, it's all retro garbage. Orange County and West Coast build good bikes, but this popularity, imo, will ruin them both. You can bet the quality of work is going to fall off. I stopped wearing a cut-away when it got popular, I quit wearing western gear when that bacame popular. I draw the line at kilts. If my track record is any indication kilts will become popular but I REFUSE to quit wearing em.
