Wore my new kilt to a Gaelic Storm concert...and it was below zero

    Morning everybody,
I finally had a chance to wear my new USA Kilts Casual model! First time owning and wearing a tartan kilt, previously I just had a 5.11. I was told around noon yesterday that Gaelic Storm was playing nearby for Valentines Day in my old college town, I've hit up their concerts before but simply forgot about this year. Did I mention this is Illinois and we had a high temperature of five degrees yesterday? After a few hours of debating how insane I was, I suited up with my cream hose with red flashes for a subtle Valentines day tribute along with my black band-logo tee shirt.

Yes, it was cold. The walk to the theater was brutal on the knees. Made it to the theater before my friends and was stuck in the lobby for a while killing time, at which point two people walked up assuming I was with the show and I was told how much they loved my music. Some awkward explanations later they were on their way. Friends arrived, tickets were bought...and the ticket taker was absolutely on cloud nine, she tried getting me to 'Scottish Dance' right then and there. Hanging around our seats I got a few nods and compliments as I stood in the aisle, a couple older women saying something about 'Irish men in kilts' and local Scots trying to guess the tartan.

The highlight of the evening: Going out to make a call and getting catcalled by the line of women outside the restroom.

We hit up a local dive bar afterwards where no one seemed to notice except some tipsy students, walking out to my car at the end of the night I accidentally bumped into a few band members who were on their way to another bar. They'd been joking about how unbearable cold the town was all night, seeing me go by in my kilt the guitarist yelled in his brogue, "Have they fallen off, yet?"

I just went to their show last week in Iowa City, wore my new kilt that had just got delivered that day. They always put on a great show and usually there's a few kilted in the audience

Gaelic Storm is great! I caught them last June in Oshkosh at the Irish Fest and I too wore my USA Kilt casual. Although it was much, much warmer that time of year it was outdoors. After the concert the band signed a CD I had purchased. They insisted that all band members sign the CD and actually rounded them all up for me. Hoping to catch them again this year same time same place.
