    Seeking leather 'cargo' sporrtan

I'm getting ready for my first Tartan ball in November, and it calls for a nicer sporran than my Stillwater nylon cargo sporran. However, due to finances and my own personal taste, I'm seeking something in leather rather than fur because I simply cannot push myself to wear or buy that style. I'm well-aware of the all-leather Nightstalker which seems like a first choice, but I've never seen it available for sale since I got into this hobby. I've also seen a couple other similar models, but again, usually out of stock or not currently being sold. I'm looking for a more affordable black leather model with enough space to hold some generous pocket real estate, ideally with a divider or two or an extra smaller pocket. As low a cost as possible without it being made of styrofoam.

Hi Highwayman, I don't know what budget you have? but have you had a look at skyravenwolf site aka Chris Hurst, she's in the UK, she can make you whatever you want, and remember the prices include VAT and I don't think they'll apply to you? just a thought. Kit

USA Kilts? eBay? You might also post a "WTB" (wanted to buy) in the For Sale forum

    This might fit the bill...

I'm not sure if they're still available, but I know that our own Steve Ashton, forum owner and proprietor of Freedom Kilts, had some very nice "carry all" sporrans made up a year or two ago. I've seen one in person and was most impressed with the amount of stuff that could be carried in it!

Here's a link to the original thread: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...sporran-76668/

You might contact Steve and inquire.

If your planning to dance at all, you may wish to reconsider the "lap based carry-all". Neither graceful nor comfortable! (You'll find out what it mean.....) There are a number of very nice plain black leather sporrans available that would be more suited to a tartan ball than the lap luggage...
Although these folks may be a bit higher priced they produce a beautifully made, simple sporran that will out last most wearers! I'm certain you could find something similar in an affordable price range, that would look a bit more complimentary than a carry-all and provide you with a reasonable amount of pocket space.
