A challenge to Xmarks members.....
Anyone can take a photo of themselves in a living room or backyard or celtic event. But... Have you ever had a photo taken of yourself in your favorite kilt at a public landmark location.? If you have, why not post it and share the experience. If you haven't, then here's the challenge... Choose a famous ( or soon to be famous) public location near you. Go there wearing your favorite kilt and snap a photo or two. Importantly, try to get other people in your picture with you. Paste it up here with a short description so we can all enjoy the fun. Example locations you choose could include a museum, airport, monument, public transit, a bridge, park, pub, cenotaph, theater, famous street, a famous store, a natural feature, etc. For instance, here's me at Niagara Falls, USA.
The big problem with this picture is that, sadly, there is no general public in it. The more general public included in your photo, the better. Understandably, your picture taking adventure may require a bit of planning. For a few of us, it will also involve mustering a bit of intestinal fortitude. But, it's a good reason to strap on that kilt and get out there. (As if any of us needed a reason...) And so I put it to you.... Don't be afraid to get creative....ie, glass floors, windy conditions, humorous situations, etc. and most of all Have fun doing it!

No problem mate, you're ON!!!
very nice piccie, I nearly got a change to see the Falls last year when I was planning a trip to Ontario, a friend there said she would take me to the falls, I never made it
I've already posted piccies of me at Cradle mountain, that's as famous as it gets in Tasmania, but I'll see what I can do.

Blu,
Was this a second honeymoon to the falls? Regardless, it is one awesome picture.
Graham,
Everywhere you go in Tasmania, you are becoming an institution all kilted and the like, so I guess when we see a picture of you it is of a landmark

These landmarks aren't near me, but they're from my last trip to D.C.:

Nice pictures Andrew! I can see some folks in the background too. Of course, these places are even more famous now that you've been there!

What's the big white building with a dome like St.Pauls Cathedral?

U.S. Capitol Building. I believe it houses Congress & Supreme court, government offices etc. and I think there is a large history museum there as well. I'd love to go there some day.

Thanx Glen, No second honeymoon. The falls is only a 2-1/2 drive from my place so we try to go there at least once a year. The gorge is 200' deep and a very impressive sight. Also a kilt friendly place to walk around for a day. It has a certain magnetic attraction that draws you back there. We stay away from the casino's and carnival places - tourist traps.

Well, they are near me, but with school starting again I'm not sure I'll have time to get a pic of me at the White House.
