    Sporrans - Member's gallery

I browsed old threads and gleaned photos submitted from members over the years. Most (if not all of these) are handmade but all are treasures to the owners. I have provided the name of the XMark friend that originally posted the photo. I hope you enjoy the variety and scope of these sporrans. There is always room to add to the gallery.

This is where I end and the Rabble contributes. During a "Parade of Tartans" sometimes it is the sporran that defines the individual.

Some beauties. Some whimsical. Some monstrosities? Some quite traditional. Some very tasteful. Some creative. Some less so.

    A great collection, Tarheel.

    Amazing! Beautiful works.

    You asked.

A large sporran, converted from a purse/pouch when you need to hold a lot of "stuff."

A hair on buffalo sporran I had custom made. The flap is so heavy don't need a closure.

A lucky find, a Shoshone deerskin pouch converted to a sporran. Wearing it with a Utilikilt because that's what I had on when I found the pouch at a shop on the Northern Kaibab-Paiute Reservation on the Arizona Strip.

I really enjoy looking for what "might work" as a sporran.

Here's two more for you Tarheel .

An Icelandic sheep hair sporran with a leather cantle that was made for me about 2 years ago .

A dress sporran that was given to me 45 years ago when I was a 14 yr old teenaged lad .

Yes , I was kilted even back then .

    Cheers , Mike

The two slightly larger ones at the outsides of the group are shoulder bags for my wife.

This is the one I usually wear, either with the chain or a matching strap.

and this one eventually got some neat horsehair tassels that I found on line.

Thanks for the additions folks. Let's keep them coming. I have observed a large number of guests visiting the thread since I started it. Probably to enjoy the variety of sporrans. And possibly to get ideas for their own purchases.
