    Inadvertent misunderstanding

A friend mentioned he was in a bar last night when he heard three quite hefty women speaking. Thinking they had Scottish accents, he approached them by saying "are you lassies from Scotland?" One of the ladies screeched Wales, Wales you idiot. My friend then asked "are you whales from Scotland"? He said that was the last he remembered.

"...........the last thing he remembered." I am not in the least bit surprised!

Alright its a joke and no harm was meant. Just so you know, almost every six year old in the UK learns that they are likely to get at least a black eye if they cracked that joke in Wales or to the Welsh and it is also regarded as particularly un-gallant to crack that joke to adult Welsh people as it implies a derogatory observation on their stature. Not only that, the Welsh have heard it so many times before in various forms and its tiresome.

    Just saying.

No offense meant, just a silly joke. Thanks for the heads up.
