Recent Adventures in Edinburgh
Hi folks!
I wrote in a few other places on here but never properly introduced myself with my kilt. It is the Fraser Hunting Muted by House of Edgar. I had it made 5 years ago and I really do love it. It is not a tank kilt and it is rather contemporary but it was my first 'real' kilt and it is great.
My girlfriend and I decided to go on a spur of the moment trip up to Edinburgh. She used to live there and I have been before but we never had been there together. It was great. It is a magical city. She actually got the bug and bought a skirt for herself made out of Harris Tweed while we were there!
I recently picked up the Shetland hose from House of Cheviot. It is amazing! It feels different than the Lewis hose that they produce but it looks incredible and is very comfortable for wearing all day long. I wore it all day walking around the city.
I usualy wear a pair of brogue boots with my kilt. I know that this is NOT traditional but I think that they work quite well (although I am open to feedback and criticism).
We also went to Stirling castle and it was pouring with rain but we still had a great time. We later ended up having lunch right beside Neil Oliver!
Kind regards,
Adam

Welcome to the "rabble" as they say! I love House of Edgar's muted palette and the hand of their cloth. I only wear Mackintosh tartans but there are Frasers in my family tree which is no surprise since they were neighboring clans. I'd like to see what Fraser Hunting Muted looks like as a kilt if you have any photos of it.

Thank you!
Sorry, I thought I had included images!! Here they are now! My sporran and belt were custom by Mojo Leather. I really love the sporran.
Best,
Adam

Very nice sir in this casual outfit. The kilt suits you very well. Toutes raisons de rester prêt.

Thanks Hector! I do not actually own anything more formal to wear with my kilt. This is a problem I need to resolve as I will be wearing a new Fraser kilt to our wedding.

What I like is how natural and relaxed you look in your kilt. And the outfit is spot on for a day in the city. This is exactly what I think of when I think of modern kilt wearing as attire should look like.
Well done sir.

Are you the first to point this out, I think it every time I see Hectors Tag Line.
I have to bite my proverbial tongue to resist replying as you have done, of course it is very probably written to trap the unwary as I am sure Hector will have a witty reply..............
