Cross boarder shipment
Hi all
I have heard really good things about USA Kilts and there service. I'm wondering if anyone in Canada has purchased a kilt and had it shipped across the boarder? Did you have to pay customs and duty when it arrived?
Thanks in advance David

It is going to "depend", David. If shipped by courier, or UPS, etc, you will almost certainly be charged customs/duty, + GST/PST. If shipped by USPS (transferring to CanadaPost), you may be paying extra when you pick it up, or you may not, depending upon how it was reviewed as it crossed the border. I have had very expensive items cross with no additional charge, and I have had less expensive items be flagged for all the extra costs.

Sport Kilt
My very first kilt was from Sport kilt. It was shipped USPS transferring to Canada post and if I remember correctly, there where no other charges.

I have one semi-traditional kilt from USA Kilts, as I remember there was no extra duty when it was shipped to Toronto.

When we ship internationally, we ship via the post office as it is the least likely to get hit by customs. While I can't say it NEVER gets hit by customs, I will say that the odds are well over 90% that it goes through without any charges.
