I live in Chicago, but our Highland games have been cancelled for the second year in a row. I'm thinking of flying down for the Sherman festival ...

Question: How far from Dallas is it ...? I'm curious whether I could stay in Dallas or would need to stay closer to the Sherman ..

If you stay in some of the towns on the North side of Dallas like McKinney it is about 30 miles and it is all 4 lane highway US-75

Well, it looks like I'm not going to make it to Sherman this weekend afterall...

I've been recovering from a bout of COVID, and was hoping I'd feel well enough to make the trip, but the closer the weekend comes, the more certain I become that I'm not going to be up for the drive or the heat. I hate to miss it, as Jill and Gary always put on a great event.

Tell everyone "howdy" for me and I hope to see you all at Kerr County next month.
