    Today is a good day.

So I got lucky (at least in my opinion- your's may vary).

Scored this on eBay for roughly the equivalent of two tanks of fuel in the car. For those of you back in the states, don't get too excited. Fuel here is ruinously expensive, but nowhere near the cost of the kilt alone, even without the waistcoat.

Don't pay attention to the fact that I'm wearing the wrong shoes, the kilt needs a good pressing, and I've not got the straps adjusted ideally. I just had to get the thing on for a photo.

The tweed is a charcoal herringbone with red over-stripe- checked in with Howie- don't know the name or mill, but he said it was 'long discontinued'. The fringe is apparently Angus District.

Aside from the fact that I wish the waistcoat was an inch or so longer (I'm worried it's going to be challenging to not show shirt in the back- any tips or tricks appreciated), It's like it was made to my exact measurements. In fact, the measurements on the listing were identical for waist and length of the kilt as the one I ordered. Waistcoat is on the bias, with a deep red silk back.

I really feel I won the lottery here.

    Very nice!

I've long sought after one of Howie's kilts. Enjoy it!

I can recommend setting up an eBay alert- since I started looking a few months ago, I’ve seen five or six pop-up. And at least one of those was in the States.

Man, you definitely get some style points!

I don't think I could resist an Angus District tartan tie with that outfit, personally. May be a bit much for some.
